Will Thecus NAS get infected with virus? Can I install anti-virus software on NAS directly?

The most viruses are programs which based on Microsoft Windows system, but Thecus NAS is based on Linux. Due to this reason, if users put the files with viruses to NAS, NAS will NOT get infected with viruses. Once users copy/move the viruses to their Windows PC, or user execute the infected files, the PC will be also infected. 

Thecus has announced VirusScan module (Powered by McAfee Antivirus ), user could install VirusScna module to protect the files stored on the NAS.

We also suggest user installing anti-virus software on the client PC, here are some anti-virus software sites for reference:
