WSS FAQ How to update BIOS for W2000 W2000+ W4000 W4000+ W5000 W5000+ W5810

W2000 W2000+ W4000 W4000+ W5000 W5000+

1. Make a DOS bootable USB driver from https://rufus.akeo.ie/
2. Download and unzip onto USB driver from http://www.thecus.com/Downloads/BIOS/WCDV_05.zip
3. Plug DOS bootable USB driver into NAS USB2.0 black color port.
4. Power NAS up and system would boot from USB driver. (If not, please press F5 for BOOT MENU or F2 into BIOS configure page, choose boot from your USB driver.)
5. type "cd WCDV_05" enter & "update" for BIOS update.
6. Power NAS off and eject USB driver.

 

W5810

1. Make a DOS bootable USB driver from https://rufus.akeo.ie/
2. Download and unzip onto USB driver from http://www.thecus.com/Downloads/BIOS/W5810_113.zip
3. Plug DOS bootable USB driver into NAS USB2.0 black color port.
4. Power NAS up, press DEL into BIOS->BOOT->lowset USB KEY DRIVER BBS PROIRITIES->choose your USB driver at first priority->F4 save & exit.
5. Power NAS up and system would boot from USB driver.
6. Type "cd W5810_113" enter & "runme" for BIOS update.
7. Power NAS off and eject USB driver.

*If your W5810 BIOS Build Date and Time is 12/15/2015 15:16:45 (from BIOS Main page), or MAC address between 00:14:FD:18:E0:0A ~ 00:14:FD:18:E9:CD (Hexadecimal/Hex), it is need to do this update.
**If your W5810 out of this range means been updated.
