What is UNC path

The UNC is Universal/Uniform Naming Convention, it is a path describes the location of a volume, directory, or file. It is similar to the device name from Microsoft  Network Neighborhood.

As like a N5200 named n5200nas at 192.168.1.100, and we could type \\n5200nas on Internet Exploer address line to access the folder/file directly, and alos type \\192.168.1.100 too. ( The symbol // means HTTP as like we could type //192.168.1.100 to access the WEB page on 192.168.1.100 )

But such naming convention would not working fine on every user's Windows networking environment, if can't access to NAS via UNC path smoothly, we would recommend via IP method would more directly and quickly as like \\192.168.1.100.
